Holiday emails are well on their way to bombarding your email boxes with green and red. Reminding you everything is on sale. Didn’t you know?!
I decided to delay this email a bit, after everyone in our house took turns catching a nasty bug. October has tumbled into November and here we are sliding into December… Can you believe it!? It would have been easy to delete this email and skip sending it all together. Maybe I missed the window. Maybe it’s too late for pumpkins and pie…or maybe… before I start decorating my house with nutcrackers, I can be the last leaf to fall…and send one final autumnal email.
First, I wanted to take a moment and say how very thankful I am for YOU! If you’ve signed up for my newsletter or follow me on social media, I truly appreciate your time, your support, and your heart. It took the last few years for me to truly appreciate my own heart, my desire to create things, tell stories, and more importantly the desire to share it with anyone who wants to listen! We should all share our joy, no matter the reasons we tell ourselves it’s silly, nerdy, or trivial. It’s not! It beautiful. It’s what connects us. It’s in sharing our joys, the things that make us alive with energy and excitement, that we spread our light. So, thank you for letting me share my heart with you! I hope I encourage you to share your joys with others.
October was chalk full of goodness so I really can’t skip it! We went on a fall adventure – our annual fall drive. We drove through the Rockies, hung out in Pagosa Springs, CO and made a stop at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We celebrated all that October had to offer and unfortunately Oct. ended with my littlest getting sick. Which led to ALL of us getting sick like a line of dominoes.
In my previous Bulletin, I promised I would share some photos of Fall in Colorado. It is my favorite time of year here. The air is crisp, the heat of summer subsides, and all my favorite treats are in play. The aspens take the stage as their leaves sparkle with gold. It’s as if someone ran around with a brush full of yellow and red paint. It’s glorious and I spend a lot of time “oooing and awwing” at nature.

Treats:
I learned to make a delicious peach pie from scratch (top left image below) from a Windowsill Workshop with Tom Conway and Margo Tantau. I learned to make the crust with Tom and tried this apple pie filling recipe by @turkuazkitchen. This made me feel so confident, that I made three separate pies (one apple and 2 pumpkin) for Thanksgiving! Woohoo! I’m a pie making monster now! I do think I’m ready to start getting more creative with the pie decorating. Oh, and I also tried a pumpkin pie spice cake recipe (bottom middle image) I spoted on Instagram by @livingwithlady. Yumm!
I do love treats, but (believe it or not) I am actually trying to lower the amount of sugar I consume lately (besides pies) and eat more veggies. I’ve discovered zucchini noodles. Have you tried them? I must say…. I love them!
Take Care,
Brenda
….okay…now I can decorate for the holidays! Wooohooo!
